Canberra Woman Charged After 78 Noise Complaint Police Visits
Canberra — A 40-year-old woman has been charged after repeated complaints about loud music at a residence in Holt, in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Police said residents reported ongoing noise problems between April and October to ACT Policing and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA). Officers attended the property 78 times in response to the complaints. On Thursday, 22 October 2026, police made several visits to the residence between 6 pm and 10:30 pm.
Working with EPA officers, police measured the noise level and recorded a reading that met the threshold for entering the property. The woman was arrested, and officers seized 26 speakers. She has been charged with causing noise within six hours of receiving a police direction and is due to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday, 23 October 2026.
