Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Hark Sampang Rai has formally registered a new political party with the Election Commission, marking a significant step in his political career. On Sunday, Sampang appeared in person to complete the party registration process.

The party, named the “Labour Culture Party,” will contest upcoming elections under the “Soil” election symbol. Speaking about his political ambitions, Sampang said he aims to take on challenging national issues and play an active role in the country’s development.

Sampang had previously come to Kathmandu in the wake of the Gen-Z movement to contribute to resolving national challenges. However, internal disputes within the movement prompted his return to Dharan. With the registration process complete, his entry into national politics is now officially underway, signaling a new phase in his public service journey.

Political analysts note that the formation of new regional parties like Sampang’s could influence local elections and potentially reshape political alliances in the eastern region of Nepal.
