Sydney/Melbourne, 5 June 2025 – In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, the Nepalese Association of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environment in Australia (NEPAFE) hosted an engaging virtual discussion aimed at empowering communities to take meaningful climate action.
Titled “Global Problem – Local Solution: A Discussion on How Community Can Contribute to Climate Action,” the event took place online on 5 June at 7:00 PM AEST, drawing participants from across Australia and beyond.
The webinar featured a panel of leading voices in sustainability and community development. Dr. Raju Adhikari, Scientist at CSIRO Melbourne, served as the moderator, facilitating a dynamic conversation with:
- Dr. Radha Wagle, Biodiversity and Climate Adaptation Specialist
- Dr. Yakindra Timilsena, Chairperson of Nourish Nation Foundation
- Bhaskar Regmi, President of Recycle to Revive (R2R)
The panellists explored practical solutions for addressing climate change at the local level, discussing topics such as sustainable living practices, climate resilience, waste reduction, and the role of grassroots activism in driving long-term environmental impact.
“Climate change is a global issue, but real progress begins with local action,” said Dr. Timilsena. “Communities have the power to lead change when provided with the right tools and awareness.”
The event, hosted via Microsoft Teams, provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collective motivation, encouraging individuals and organizations to contribute to environmental stewardship in their daily lives.
The webinar was supported by the Nourish Nation Foundation and Recycle to Revive (R2R), organizations that actively promote sustainability initiatives within local communities.
