Canberra, ACT
The ACT Government has officially opened nominations for the 2025 ACT Environment Awards, inviting the community to celebrate outstanding environmental leadership and achievements across the Territory.
Now in its latest edition, the awards recognise individuals, groups, and young changemakers who have made a significant impact on protecting and improving the natural environment. This year’s categories include:
- Environmental Protection Award
- Moira and John Rowland Award for Young Environmental Achievement
- Working Together Award, supported by Alexander Watson Home Insulation
Organisers are calling on Canberrans from all walks of life to share their stories of environmental action, collaboration, and innovation. “There are many ways to create positive change in the world,” a spokesperson said. “We want to honour that diversity, and the many forms environmental leadership can take.”
Nominations are now being accepted via an online Google Form,

which includes three short-answer sections covering the nominee’s background, the body of work, and its impact. Each response is limited to 200 words, and applicants are encouraged to draft responses in advance.
Submissions can be made by individuals nominating themselves or others, and multiple entries are welcome. Winners will be announced later in the year at a special ceremony celebrating community-led environmental progress.
