Canberra , Australia:
The Australian Government is expanding its network of Medicare Urgent Care Clinics to improve access to free and timely healthcare across the country.
The clinics provide treatment for urgent but non-life-threatening conditions, such as minor injuries and illnesses, without the need to visit hospital emergency departments. Australians can walk in and receive care from qualified doctors and nurses, all covered by Medicare.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited several clinics to meet healthcare staff and community members, highlighting the Government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Medicare and ensuring quality healthcare is available to everyone, close to home.
