The number of international students studying in Australia totalled 849,113 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of 9% compared to the same period last year.

More than 60,000 Nepali students are currently pursuing educational opportunities in Australia, according to the Australian Department of Education, and that number is rapidly growing.

The number of international students studying in New South Wales totalled 326,557 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of 9% compared to the same period last year, and had a 38% share of the overall Australian student numbers.

During this record period the number of Nepali students in NSW is 41,497.

The number of international students studying in Victoria totalled 257,231 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of 10% compared to the same period last year, and had a 30% share of the overall Australian student numbers.

During this record period the number of Nepali students in VIC is 9,720.

The number of international students studying in Queensland totalled 124,598 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of 3% compared to the same period last year, and had a 15% share of the overall Australian student numbers.

During this record period the number of Nepali students in QLD  4,203.

The number of international students studying in South Australia totalled 47,986 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of 5% compared to the same period last year, and had a 6% share of the overall Australian student numbers.

During this record period the number of Nepali students in SA 3,260 .

The number of international students studying in Western Australia totalled 71,361 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of 20% compared to the same period last year, and had a 8% share of the overall Australian student numbers.

 During this record period the number of Nepali students in WA 3,454.

The number of international students studying in Tasmania totalled 8,340 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of -8% compared to the same period last year, and had a 1% share of the overall Australian student numbers.

During this record period the number of Nepali students in TAS 1,394.

The number of international students studying in the Northern Territory totalled 4,913 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of -1% compared to the same period last year, and had a 1% share of the overall Australian student numbers.

During this record period the number of Nepali students in NT  1,271.

The number of international students studying in the Australian Capital Territory totalled 19,913 for the January-November 2024 period. There was a change of 4% compared to the same period last year, and had a 2% share of the overall Australian student numbers.

During this record period the number of Nepali students in ACT 1,804.
