ACT Government to Commence Early Works for Northside Hospital Project
The ACT Government has announced that it is preparing to begin early works for the new Northside Hospital project, marking an important step toward enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the territory.
According to the government, the early works phase will involve essential site preparation activities designed to support the main construction. These works are expected to include the establishment of construction areas and site compounds, the upgrading and relocation of existing services and utilities, the demolition of selected buildings, the development of new parking facilities, and the construction of a new childcare centre.
It has been stated that North Canberra Hospital will remain fully operational during this period, ensuring that healthcare services continue without disruption.
The government has advised that temporary changes to access, parking, and wayfinding will be implemented at various stages of the early works, particularly in areas affected by construction activity. Officials indicated that these changes would be clearly communicated through signage and regular project updates to assist patients, staff, and visitors.
The ACT Government noted that this early works phase represents a significant milestone in progressing the Northside Hospital development and improving health services for the Canberra community.
