Hobart residents invited to learn about running for Council

Community members considering a role in local government are invited to attend a free information session ahead of the October 2026 Local Government elections.

Hosted by the City of Hobart, the session will provide insight into the role of Council, the responsibilities of elected members, and how local government decisions are made.

Representatives from the Local Government Association of Tasmania (LGAT) will also explain the election and nomination process, followed by a Q&A session with City of Hobart staff and LGAT representatives.

The session will be held on Thursday 4 June 2026 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at the Waterside Pavilion, Mawson Place, Hobart.

The City is encouraging anyone passionate about Hobart’s future or interested in contributing to their community to attend.
