Durga Prasai-Led Campaign Submits 27-Point Demands to Nepal Government

Durga Prasai and representatives of the Rashtra, Rashtriyata, Dharma, Sanskriti, ra Nagarik Bachau Mahabhiyan submitted a 27-point set of demands to the government on Wednesday at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The demands, presented after reading them aloud to government officials, cover a wide range of political, economic, and social issues.
Key points include:

Repealing the current provincial structure and restoring the five development regions and 14 zones.

Conducting a public referendum on establishing a Hindu state alongside the constitutional monarchy while respecting Buddhist, Kirat, and Vedic-Sanatana traditions.

Ensuring that Nepalese people control Nepal’s economy and businesses.

Increasing minimum salaries for civil servants, police, and military personnel to NPR 100,000.

Nationalizing banks and financial institutions to reduce financial risks.

Bringing back approximately 7,000 Nepalese currently imprisoned in Gulf countries and creating domestic employment opportunities.

Providing loan relief and favourable repayment terms for small and medium entrepreneurs and cooperative borrowers.

Expanding educational opportunities within Nepal, including establishing more than 100 medical, engineering, nursing, accounting, and technical colleges, and incorporating Sanskrit and moral education into curriculum.

Supporting elderly citizens with free healthcare, pensions, and other welfare measures.

Ensuring Nepali citizenship is maintained for all Nepal-born citizens, even abroad.

Investigating and nationalizing unexplained wealth of leaders and officials, and addressing landless and homeless issues.

Gradually removing VAT and simplifying taxation, with limited income tax for professionals.

Phasing out INGOs and NGOs while addressing their legitimate demands.

Launching inquiries into high-level government officials.
The delegation was led by Madhav Kalpit, the central spokesperson for the campaign.
