ACT Police Charge Two After Alleged Canberra Crime Spree
ACT Policing has charged a 26-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man following a series of alleged offences across Canberra between late April and mid-May 2026.
Police allege a stolen Mitsubishi Outlander taken from Higgins on 26 April was used in multiple petrol drive-offs in Macquarie, Kingston and Charnwood.
The woman was also allegedly involved in a shop theft in Tuggeranong on 8 May before she and another woman allegedly assaulted a member of the public in Gungahlin, threatened her with a knife and stole her Hyundai Tucson.
Police later recovered the Tucson in Duffy on 9 May and the Outlander on 11 May.
The pair are also accused of stealing two rideshare vehicles, including a Mitsubishi Outlander on 12 May and a Toyota Camry on 14 May after allegedly threatening the driver. The Camry was later found in Holder.
Following search warrants at a Duffy residence on 15 May, police arrested both individuals. They appeared before the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday, 16 May 2026.
The woman has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, while the man faces two counts of aggravated robbery and joint commission aggravated robbery.
Police investigations are continuing, with further charges expected.
