Expanded domestic and international flight services have been introduced, further strengthening Canberra’s aviation network and improving travel options for residents and visitors.

New routes and service upgrades have been announced at Canberra Airport, enhancing both interstate and global connectivity.

A new direct service between Canberra and Launceston has been added by Link Airways. The first flight is scheduled to operate on 6 May 2026, with four return services per week to northern Tasmania.

In January 2026, an upgrade to the Brisbane route was announced by Jetstar. The introduction of the Airbus A320 aircraft has resulted in up to 52 additional seats being added per flight, increasing overall passenger capacity.

During the same month, direct flights between Canberra and Bali were launched by Virgin Australia. The service to Bali, Indonesia, is being operated three times per week from April through January, with the potential for increased frequency during peak travel periods.

International access has also been expanded through enhanced connectivity to Doha, Qatar. Direct services to Nadi, Fiji are being operated by Fiji Airways, providing onward connections to major global destinations including Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Daily flights to Doha via Melbourne are being offered by Qatar Airways. From Doha, access is provided to more than 170 destinations across Europe, the Middle East and other regions through the airline’s global network.

Domestic services continue to be delivered by Qantas, Virgin Australia, Jetstar, FlyPelican and Link Airways.

Daily flights are being operated to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Direct services are also being provided to Adelaide, Avalon, Coffs Harbour, Darwin, Gold Coast, Hobart, Newcastle and Perth.

Through these expanded services, greater travel flexibility has been made available, and Canberra’s position as a growing aviation hub has been further reinforced.
