Kathmandu Nepal – Maharaj Gurung, Vice President of the National Youth Union Nepal affiliated with the UML, has urged for scrutiny of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah’s activities and assets.
Speaking at a press conference organized by the Youth Union at the UML party office on Wednesday, Gurung said that if corruption is to be eliminated, both Balen Shah and his father’s properties should be investigated. He also claimed that the Youth Union would examine the assets and income of the Nepal organization.
Gurung criticized the current government, led by Chief Justice Suśhila Karki, for allegedly failing to conduct free and fair elections. He warned that if elections are conducted impartially, he would contest from the same constituencies as the sitting Prime Minister and ministers.
