Kathmandu, Nepal – The national cricket squad of Nepal has obtained visas for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is set to fly out tomorrow, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) confirmed.
Visa processing had been delayed after the UAE temporarily restricted permits for Nepali citizens in the wake of large-scale prisoner releases during the Gen Z movement in Nepal. The players had applied several days earlier, but their travel remained uncertain until CAN intervened.
To resolve the issue, CAN sought support from both the Emirates Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council (ICC). With approvals now secured, preparations for the upcoming series have moved ahead.
The Sharjah Cricket Stadium has been booked for the T20 series against the West Indies, and online ticket sales opened earlier this week.
Nepal will face the West Indies in three T20 internationals on September 27, 29, and 30. CAN has announced it will oversee all logistics and expenses related to the tournament.
