New Nepali Film ‘PR’ Set to Begin Production in Australia

Salon Salina Films has unveiled the official posters for its upcoming movie PR: Permanent Resident, which is set to begin filming on February 11, 2025. Directed by Shovit Basnet, the film features a fresh lineup of talented actors from Nepal’s growing film industry.

The film’s two official posters showcase the leading cast—RA Suraj Poudel, Vinita Karki, Asma Adhikari, Pooja Chaudhary, and Rajan Kunwar—each of whom brings a new energy to the screen. The vibrant posters depict the actors in cheerful poses, capturing the film’s positive tone. These actors were selected through a competitive audition process, marking their debut on the big screen.

Presented by Ranjit Shah of RFM Facility Management Australia and Lane Way Dumpling Sydney, the film also boasts a strong production team. Producers include Pradeep Dahal of A One Group Services and Lakshman Sapkota of Indreni Group-Australia, while Ganesh KC of Asia Pacific E College serves as executive producer.

The film’s story is written by director Shovit Basnet, with screenplay and dialogues by Ganesh Budhathoki. Music for the project is composed by Manas Raj. In terms of its shooting locations, the film will feature stunning scenes from various Australian cities, with 25% of the production taking place in Nepal. This international element is expected to provide a unique cultural and visual blend for audiences.

The film also includes a talented supporting cast featuring Kushal Thapa, Vimala Khatri, Max, and Nabin Ghayal, (Nabin Ghayal, who is also a senior advisor at NIB Star Media- www.kendranewsaustralia.com.au)

With its combination of fresh talent, experienced producers, and an international filming backdrop, PR: Permanent Resident is set to be a significant project for the Nepalese film industry, offering a compelling story, impressive visuals, and a heartwarming narrative.
