Qatar Grants Amnesty to Three Nepali Nationals, Repatriation Underway
The Government of Qatar has granted amnesty to three Nepali nationals on the occasion of Ramadan, Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
According to the ministry, the amnesty was approved by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The decision follows diplomatic efforts by the Nepali Embassy in Doha, which played a key role in securing the release of the individuals.
Officials did not disclose the reasons for the detention of the three Nepali citizens, nor were their identities made public.
The Ministry confirmed that all three individuals are currently in the process of returning to Nepal.
The gesture is seen as part of Qatar’s broader humanitarian tradition of granting pardons during significant religious occasions such as Ramadan.
