UML-Affiliated Youth Wing Files Complaint Against Kathmandu – Mayor Balen Shah

Kathmandu, November 6 — The youth wing close to Nepal’s main opposition party, the CPN-UML, has lodged a formal complaint against Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah at the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau.

According to the youth leaders, the complaint alleges that Mayor Shah’s recent social media post contained offensive language and defamed political parties. The post, published around midnight on October 31 (Kartik 16), reportedly included expressions deemed inappropriate for a public official. Shah deleted the post shortly after it began circulating online.

A Cyber Bureau source confirmed that a complaint has been submitted, though it is currently undergoing the registration process. The Bureau has not yet commented on whether a formal investigation will be initiated.

Mayor Balen Shah, known for his outspoken and independent style, has frequently clashed with political parties over governance and city management issues. His online remarks have previously drawn both public support and controversy.
