Canberra’s health services received a major boost yesterday with the official opening of the Woden Urgent Care Clinic by Federal Minister Katy Gallagher and David Smith MP.

The new clinic represents a significant primary health care investment by the Australian Labor Party Federal Government, aimed at easing pressure on hospital emergency departments and improving access to timely care. ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr welcomed the development, saying he was pleased to see strong support for Canberra from federal colleagues.

The Woden Urgent Care Clinic is located at 33 Colbee Court, Phillip, and open seven days a week, including public holidays, from 10am to 8pm.

The GP-led clinic provides treatment for urgent but non-life-threatening conditions. No appointment is required, allowing patients to simply walk in, and all services are fully bulk billed, ensuring care remains free and accessible for the community.

The clinic is expected to play an important role in strengthening primary health care services across the ACT.
