Election Commission of Nepal Extends Until 22 Nov Window for New Political Party Registrations
Kathmandu Nepal—
Nepal’s Election Commission has extended the time available for registering new political parties, allowing applications to be submitted until Mangsir 6 (22 Nov 2025). The earlier deadline had been set for Kartik 30 2082, B.S.
Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the adjustment ensures that new applicants can complete the process before the schedule for registration specifically tied to the Fagun 21, 2082 B.S. election. The Commission has fixed Mangsir 1 to 7 as the dedicated period for registration required for election participation.
Bhattarai explained that new parties submitting all required documents by Mangsir 6 will still need to finalise their election-related registration by Mangsir 7.
According to the Commission, 122 political parties are currently on record. Since the election announcement, seven parties have been newly registered, while another seven previously listed parties have been removed. An additional 28 groups are still undergoing identity and document verification as part of the registration process.
