The Skyfire Fireworks Event will be held this Saturday, 14 March, in Canberra

Canberra-

The community is advised that Skyfire, the annual fireworks event over Lake Burley Griffin, will take place this Saturday, 14 March. Large crowds are expected around the lake and nearby areas, so residents and visitors are encouraged to plan their travel in advance.

To help everyone attend safely and conveniently, free public transport will be available on all Transport Canberra bus and light rail services from 5:00 pm until the last service.

Travel Information:
• Additional bus services will operate from major interchanges to support travel to and from the event.
• Light rail services between the city and Gungahlin will run more frequently.
• Parking around Lake Burley Griffin will be very limited, so public transport is strongly recommended.

Road Closures:
Temporary road closures will be in place in areas including Parkes Place, King Edward Terrace, Commonwealth Avenue Bridge, and parts of the city. Residents should allow extra travel time.

For pedestrians:
Due to construction on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge, some walking routes may have detours or diversions.

Leaving the Event:
After the fireworks, buses will depart from the Commonwealth Avenue southbound Regatta Point bus stop, with services organised to help passengers travel towards the city, Woden, Tuggeranong, and other areas. Signage and Transport Officers will be available to assist attendees.

Community members are encouraged to plan their trip ahead of time and follow transport guidance to ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for everyone.
